THE CONFISCATION

(
Stories) Ivan Matvichuc

In an of those lazy afternoons of summer, where we play chat out, Antenor told us that certain time a friend of him, Leocádio, very concerned with the alternatives of the life and fearful with the Government President Collor's abuses, that there for the nineties years, when of the night for the day it decreed your famous "Temporary" Bank Confiscation, freezing thousands of notebooks of savings and checking accounts, leaving the people to it decreases, with just a " balance of an insignificant value" in his pocket, size of a "spit".

They alleged in the occasion that it was necessary to reduce the consumption and to stop the " monster of the inflation ", before he bit us, even if for that it roots necessary the use of drastic measures, in other words, to stop the industrial growth, to stagnate the trade, to provoke bankruptcies, the globalization of the economy at the expense of a growing unemployment or if you prefer to synthesize all this in few words: to play the people in the mud of the poverty, to satisfy international interests. It seems that already we heard somewhere this history! Will it be that we are not deceived? Well, the fearful Leocádio that there were new and unfriendly economical measures of that load and when it got to rescue, some time then, your " rich money ", decided not to run more risks and did your favorite place of your mattress to deposit your dear savings. Safe place and far away from the terrible " government claws ".

He left it there deposited by many years, believer that no " confiscation men " of this planet would take possession of him. Fatal mistake. Certain day, needing money to pay an unexpected bill, he opened the door of your " Bank-mattress " and he had the unpleasant surprise of verifying that your money had been confiscated again, but in this time, by the... a BIG MOUSE! - It escaped from Collor and it fell in the claws of the large female rat of the life... Crazy of the life, Leocádio got to repair and to save some notes, he went to the bank and new surprise! - the money had totally lost the value and it had left the circulation, in consequence of the successive changes of coin of this country! It will be caused bad luck like this at the hell, Leocádio! It is for that that your friend Antenor always advises him:
- " Boy, money doesn't bring happiness. It is not worthwhile to keep the vile metal. Best
is to spend it and to live happy ".

Wise person advice, because happy he is the man that gets to live unworried and far away from those governments' unfriendly attitudes stalled in foreign debts (without speaking in the interns), and that always find a way of " using our money " to honor your commitments ". It only remains to harmonize us with Antenor, in gender, number and degree, to endorse and to sign in low. Truths should be said with transparency and not camouflaged by the excused interests.
